Ingredients:

  • Urd Dal - 1 1/4 Cup
  • Ragi Powder - 1 Cup
  • Salt - To Taste
Method:
  • Soak the urd dal for 30 mins 
  • Grind the soaked urdal in a mixi jar until till it becomes fluffy and smooth as shown below

Note: Add water little by little ..if water is added more then it will be very liquid which makes idly very hard
  • Now transfer the urd dal in to large vessel or bowl and add the ragi flour
  • add salt per taste and mix well
  • Add water if required
  • Keep it aside for at-least 12 hrs
  • Once u see the batter raised well its ready to use

  • In a idly steamer Pour the batter into the idly molds and cook as regular idly

  • With the same batter u can make dosa and paniyaram adjusting the water level
