Tomato curry is made in various styles....this is my version

Ingredients:

  • Tomato (Big and Ripe) - 3
  • Onion (medium sized) - 2
  • Coconut - 2 tbsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - Seasoning
  • Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • Coriander Powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Rice - 1/4 tbsp
  • Toordal - 1/4 tbsp
  • Salt - To taste
Method:
  • In a vessel heat water and put the tomatoes and boil for 5 mins 
  • Now make a tomato puree
  • You can skip the above two steps if u have a tomato puree u can use about 1 cup
  • In a pan heat oil add rice,toordal and half of the chopped onions
  • wait till the onion becomes translucent
  • Now add chilli powder and coriander powder
  • saute for another 2 mins switch of the stove and wait till its cool
  • In a mixi jar Add coconut and the saute onions
  • Grind it to a smooth paste
  • Now in a pan Add oil and splatter the cumin seeds
  • Then add the balance onions and saute till translucent
  • now add the grinded onion and coconut masala
  • Cook for about 3-4 mins
  • Then add the tomato puree
  • Add salt to taste
  • Add a cup of water and let it boil for about 6-8 mins
  • Garnish with coriander leaves
  • Best for idly,dosa and rice
